Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle includes football scholarships, family involvement and community involvement. First of all the Selmons were raised by Lucious and Jessie Selmon on an agricultural property near Eufala within Oklahoma as the youngest of their nine children. Also, he was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma on the field of football. All three became All-America. The year was 1973. Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy was named the best offensive lineman in the country by Outland and Lombardi Awards. In his time as Oklahoma's starting quarterback The Sooners recorded a 32-1-1 record and won two national championships. He was awarded a third scholarship in 1975. He was also designated an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon obtained a degree in education. Fourth-year service in college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. After graduation, he moved into Tampa and played for nine years for the Buccaneers. He was an All-Pro for three occasions. He then began his career. In 1988, he was an Account Relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder that the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as among the most prominent young men in the country. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in height and weighed 256 pounds as a college player he was captain of the team in 1975. He was hired by the University of South Florida in 1993 as the Associate Director of Sports. The College Football Hall of Fame named the player on the 28th of October, 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame, in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame In 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented its Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma made the presentation.
