Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin has been an actress across Canada and New Zealand for over a decade. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and raised by Wellington Paquin's acting debut was as Flora McGrath. For this role she received an Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress for The romantic drama The Piano at the young age of 11. She is the second youngest winner in Oscar History. She won the role of Flora McGrath the daughter of an mute Scottish pianist who in the late 19th century relocates to New Zealand for an arranged marriage when she responded to an audition for open casting when she was just nine years old. She had little prior experience in acting. When she was a teenager she emigrated to the United States. Paquin was in a brief role in the role of Jane Eyre's title character while she was still a kid as part of Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and a lead part in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams as a child in the TV adaptation of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin played the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 film Amistad. She played teenagers on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) and portrayed the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on the screen in Almost Famous (2000).
