Bonanza the first colour western depicted the story of the Cartwrights who lived in a fictional family close to Virginia City Nevada, an actual mining town during the 1890s. The actor appeared as Cartwright as the youngest Cartwright child whose mother Marie was French Creole. She had been widowed when her son died of fever in episode Marie My Love.
