Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the daughter of Peter Silk, an academic as well as Ilkay Silk, an multi-talented actor, director, producer, educator, playwright as well as Director of Drama in St. Thomas University. Anna Silk's father was British, as is her mother, a Turkish Cypriot English expat. Anna Silk remembers her mother watching working in rehearsals for plays.
